Summers are here, while you might be thinking of different ways to beat the summer heat, by eating and drinking cooling foods and drinks, the humidity and the harsh sun rays can not only damage your skin… they can even damage your delicate hair cuticles! During most summers it is difficult to get that bouncy look in your hair; most days are bad hair days with your hair looking dry, frizzy, drab and brittle. However you can protect your hair from the harsh rays of the sun with quick and simple tricks:

1.    Natural Days!

During summers, hair generally tends to get dehydrated this makes it look dry and lack luster. To bring back the luster and moisture in your hair reduce and avoid the use of hair products and chemicals like hair colour, relaxers, bleach, straightening and strengthening. Use natural products or home remedies for your hair, and see it bounce back to life in no time whatsoever.

2.    Take a break from Shampooing

While shampooing is good, try to use as less of shampoos as possible, as this makes your hair lose its natural essential oils, however if you have to clean your hair, you can use other cleaning methods which are effective and natural. If you nevertheless would like to use a specific shampoo for your hair, dilute it as much as possible, so that it is gentle on your hair.

3.    Give a break to all the heated hair styling tools

Take a break from using hot irons or blow dryers; these tend to make the hair frizzy and brittle, if you have to use a hair dryer, try using a leave on conditioner after that.

4.    Try getting as much of deep conditioning as possible

Pamper your hair in the summers with a great deep conditioning treatment; this helps your hair retain the lost moisture, due to regular exposure to the sun.

5.    Water, Water everywhere!

Hydrate your hair from inside, for this you need to drink plenty of water and keep your body hydrated at all times. Also try trimming your hair regularly during summers, to remove all the damaged sections.

Follow these simple steps and have great, bouncy, full of life and completely moisturized hair this summer!
