Vijayalakshmi Vadlapati  known popularly as Silk Smitha, was an Indian film artiste in the South Indian languages. Vijayalakshmi was born in a family to Ramallu and Sarasamma in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh. In 1996, Smitha was found dead in her Chennai apartment.
